Butler University College of Education

Butler College of Education offers degree programs and for-credit workshops (scroll down) for early childhood and elementary educators.

Degree Programs: You can transform lives as a teacher. In Butler's College of Education, you'll collaborate with dynamic, caring and energetic people to transform K-12 education as well.

We are the only program in Indiana that has early-middle childhood majors teach for an entire year, in two different settings. You'll observe in real classrooms as a freshman. Your professors are there with you, explaining teaching practices. This means no surprises when you walk into your first classroom assignment.

Experience diverse educational models - urban, suburban, Montessori, charter, magnets and a new Reggio-inspired laboratory school - thanks to Butler's metropolitan location and partnerships with local schools. You can even student teach abroad.

Workshops: Workshops offered through the College of Education are opportunities for continued learning for those who are:

  • working towards a degree and wish to earn graduate credit;
  • seeking up-to-date information for personal and/or professional development.
